As a Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure & Backend at Zimran, you will build and scale the foundational platforms that power global products, working at the intersection of backend development and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect Cloud Environments: Build and evolve Terraform modules and environment blueprints, empowering product teams to launch and manage their applications quickly and safely in isolated AWS accounts
• Develop Internal Tooling: Create Python-based services, automation scripts, and internal APIs that eliminate manual work and provide robust self-service tools for engineering teams
• Drive Observability: Centralize metrics, define SLIs and SLOs in partnership with product teams, and create comprehensive dashboards and alerting systems
• Scale for Massive Traffic: Load-test products and fine-tune autoscaling to gracefully handle massive traffic spikes driven by global performance-marketing campaigns
• Ensure Resilience: Design and run disaster recovery drills to ensure systems are prepared for anything
• Guide and Collaborate: Review infrastructure changes from product teams, explain technical trade-offs, and guide them in adopting cloud and reliability best practices
• Own the Production Environment: Take an active role in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-mortem reviews to continuously improve system stability

Requirements

• You have 2+ years in software engineering with production backend experience in Python (FastAPI or similar)
• You have at least 1 year dedicated to infrastructure, platform, or site reliability
• You have hands-on production experience with AWS (IAM, VPC networking, managed databases)
• You have advanced Terraform skills (writing reusable modules, managing state, reviewing VCS-driven infrastructure changes)
• You are highly capable with Kubernetes and Helm for deploying, debugging, and scaling services
• You have solid experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions)
• You have a solid understanding of PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization
• You bring strong production ownership (investigating and resolving incidents) and are comfortable working closely with product teams to help them adopt best practices

Nice to have

• Multi-account AWS setups
• Experience in observability (Prometheus-compatible metrics, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Loki, SLI/SLO, alerting)
• Experience building platform self-service tooling (module design, "golden paths" for developers)
