Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS & Data Infrastructure)

paytech is a fintech company developing a B2B SaaS platform for payment processing and orchestration. We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help us scale, automate, and continuously improve our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve AWS production infrastructure: availability, security, scalability, and performance
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Manage Linux systems, networking, and load balancers/reverse proxies (nginx, HAProxy)
• Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Handle production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and prevent recurrence
• Help design and operate our new DWH on ClickHouse and Amazon Kinesis
• Strengthen disaster recovery, backups, and capacity planning
• Optimize AWS costs without compromising reliability
• Work closely with development and security teams on architecture

Requirements

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles managing production environments
• Strong Linux administration, including troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS)
• Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, TLS
• Strong knowledge of nginx, reverse proxies, and load balancing
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools
• Scripting in Bash and/or Python
• Understanding of infrastructure security, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues
• Ownership mindset and ability to design and deliver solutions independently

Nice to have

• Experience deploying, operating, or optimizing ClickHouse
• Familiarity with Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, or other streaming technologies
• Experience supporting data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, or real-time data platforms
• Experience with Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, or Redis
• Familiarity with SRE practices, including SLI/SLO definitions, incident management, and capacity planning
• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements in fintech, particularly PCI DSS
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, or multi-region AWS architectures
