Pontera is a fintech company dedicated to helping people retire better through a software platform that enables retirement savers to manage their 401(k) and other retirement plan accounts with their financial advisor. We are looking for a passionate DevOps Engineer with hands-on cloud experience to design, implement, monitor, and maintain our AWS-based production and development environments, building and operating a secure, highly available, scalable, and reliable cloud platform.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, monitor, and maintain our AWS-based production and development environments
Build and operate a secure, highly available, scalable, and reliable cloud platform
Solve complex infrastructure challenges and enable engineering teams to deliver faster and with confidence

Requirements

2–5 years of experience in a SaaS/PaaS company, working with AWS (preferred) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Strong hands-on experience with container technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Strong Linux administration and shell scripting skills
Experience with CI/CD platforms, preferably GitHub Actions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a creative, out-of-the-box mindset
Ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and adopt new technologies
Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
High security awareness and understanding of security best practices
Solid understanding of Git and GitFlow workflows
Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Nice to have

Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana
Experience solving scalability, reliability, and performance challenges in large-scale cloud environments
Experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) as part of your daily work
Experience with GitOps workflows using Argo CD & Crossplane
Experience working in a multi-account cloud environment
