SiriusOne is hiring a Senior Scala developer for a Swiss fintech client to join a dynamic and agile development team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, distributed applications in Scala and Java
• Work closely with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design and implement APIs for seamless integration with internal and external systems
• Contribute to software architecture decisions and best practices
• Ensure high-quality code with automated test suites in a CI/CD environment
• Participate in internal DevOps and Scala guilds, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
• Work on diverse financial topics, from front-end portals to digital investment product management

Requirements

• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Strong experience with Scala and Java, with a deep understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Experience in developing scalable, distributed applications
• Solid background in Agile software development
• Interest in functional and reactive programming
• Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

• Experience in banking or insurance industries
• Hands-on experience with event sourcing and Kafka event streaming pipelines
• Experience with DevOps (CI/CD, containers, virtualization)
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Knowledge of Akka (Persistence, HTTP, Streams)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, NiFi, Keycloak, Consul
