Senior Software Engineer - ETL

This role is for a Senior ETL engineer working on NielsenIQ's Azure-based Connect platform.

Responsibilities

• Work on the new Connect platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure
• Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and make application enhancements using Python, Fast API, Snowflake, Postgres, Complex SQL, Azure cloud Services, Airflow, GitHub, Kubernetes, Docker
• Deploy application components using CI/CD pipelines using AI in-house agents
• Ingest data from multiple sources in different formats
• Perform complex business transformations on source data and create reportable datamarts
• Build utilities for monitoring and automating repetitive functions
• Collaborate with Agile cross-functional teams, internal and external clients including Operations, Infrastructure, Tech Ops

Requirements

• 6-10 years of applicable software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience in writing complex SQL
• AI fundamentals (GitHub Copilot, VSCode, prompts) for code generation and automation of all SDLC phases
• Strong fundamentals in data warehousing concepts and modeling reporting datamarts
• Hands-on experience in designing ETL enhancements
• Strong fundamentals with experience in front-end and backend object-oriented programming, including proficiency in Python, Airflow, Fast API
• Experience in cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps Technologies as GitHub, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker
