Junior System & Network Engineer

The role focuses on operating and supporting existing IT infrastructure for QData and its clients, including scheduled maintenance, incident handling, on-site service, and improvements to the monitoring system.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MikroTik, Fortinet, and Cisco network equipment; troubleshoot connectivity and network issues across the office and remote sites.
• Install and perform basic administration of Ubuntu servers, support existing services, monitor server health, work with virtual machines and virtualization platforms, and diagnose hardware and software faults.
• Configure and maintain monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix; track availability, set alerts, analyze metrics and logs, triage incidents, and improve the existing monitoring system.
• Visit client sites to service IT infrastructure, install and maintain server and network equipment, check cabling, diagnose physical-layer issues, support existing sites, and participate in launching new sites.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, equipment and IP records, configurations, and records of completed work and changes; collaborate with developers and other technical specialists.

Requirements

• Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, the OSI model, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Basic administration of Linux (Ubuntu) servers and an understanding of server and network hardware.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, a responsible and self-driven approach, and willingness to travel to client sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and containerization; familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD.
