Intermediate backend engineering on GitLab’s Code Security team focuses on dependency scanning, SAST and automated remediation, for India-eligible, all-remote candidates.

Responsibilities

• Build parsing for dependency manifests, lockfiles and SBOMs, extending coverage across package ecosystems
• Create CWE-mapped detection rules and hybrid analyzers that combine static analysis with AI reasoning, measured against benchmarks

Requirements

• Professional production experience in a systems language, particularly Go and/or Rust, with testing discipline
• Experience using AI/LLM tools to generate or evaluate technical content with sound judgment on trustworthiness
• Ability to work independently in a remote, largely asynchronous environment and communicate clearly
