Zimran is hiring a Junior Data Engineer in Almaty to build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines, data warehouses, and data quality processes. The role uses SQL, Python, GCP/BigQuery, and Git to support reliable data flows and business insights.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to integrate and process data from multiple sources
Design and refine databases, data warehouses, and data schemas for highly efficient storage and access
Handle large datasets while ensuring their availability, reliability, and security across all systems
Implement best practices for data quality, including rigorous cleaning, validation techniques, and strict compliance with privacy standards
Partner closely with business teams to deeply understand their data needs and deliver tailored, high-quality data solutions
Continuously monitor and optimize data processing workflows to ensure smooth, efficient operations
Develop standardized dashboards and ad-hoc reports to help drive informed business decision-making

Requirements

Strong knowledge of SQL
Proficiency in Python
Hands-on experience with GCP/BigQuery
Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and principles
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Capability to optimize complex data workflows
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a similar role
Curious, passionate, and systematic mindset
Strong attention to detail and a solid focus on achieving results
Excellent communication skills
Highly collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
