Senior Backend RoR Engineer

This is a hands-on role for an experienced Ruby on Rails engineer who enjoys designing scalable systems, solving complex backend challenges, and improving performance in a high-traffic consumer product.

Responsibilities

• Developing and scaling backend services
• Designing and improving backend architecture
• Optimizing application performance and database queries
• Working with cloud infrastructure and deployment
• Building and maintaining APIs and integrations
• Running A/B tests and supporting product experiments
• Improving security, reliability, and development processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience in production
• Experience designing and scaling backend systems
• Strong knowledge of databases and query optimization
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, deployment, and optimization
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
• Understanding of microservices, serverless architectures, and DevOps practices
• Experience with REST APIs and automated testing
• Knowledge of web and mobile application security
• English B2+ or higher
