Visual Layer, now part of Camtek, is building its AI Software center in Tel Aviv. Visual Layer's core engine understands visual data at scale: it finds duplicates, outliers, mislabels, and anomalies across millions of images without manual tagging. Camtek builds inspection and metrology systems for the semiconductor industry. Together, we are bringing state-of-the-art AI software products into high-volume industrial inspection. The research team is small and senior: PhDs and published researchers working next to fast, production-minded engineers. We build, and we ship.

Visual Layer, part of Camtek, is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to build advanced AI-powered applications for the semiconductor industry.

You will build complex, data-driven interfaces to explore large image datasets, detect anomalies, and interact with AI agents, working closely with backend engineers, AI researchers, and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build innovative AI products with a senior engineering team, combining startup agility with the stability of a global semiconductor technology company

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of frontend or full-stack development experience in a product company
  • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience building complex, data-intensive web applications with a focus on performance and scalability
  • Experience integrating backend APIs (REST, GraphQL, WebSocket)
  • Ability to lead frontend development End-to-End, including architecture, implementation, and production
  • Strong product mindset, ownership, and independent problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • Experience developing AI/LLM-powered products, chat interfaces, or AI agents
  • Backend development experience with Node.js or Python
  • Experience with data visualization technologies (D3, WebGL, Canvas)
  • Experience with industrial imaging or semiconductor applications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
