Описание
Cuvva is looking for a commercially minded, technically strong individual contributor to join their Business Intelligence team. You will report to BI Management, working on interesting data and analytical problems across the insurance business. The role is broad and suitable for Data Analysts, Pricing Analysts, Data Scientists, BI Analysts or BI Managers with deep analytical thinking, understanding of insurance, and the ability to turn data into better commercial decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manipulate, analyse and interpret datasets to provide insights and recommendations that help the business make better decisions
- Work directly with the Head of Product to size opportunities before they are built, and to measure the impact of what's been shipped once it's live
- Design and interpret A/B tests and feature rollouts, with a clear view on what the result means for the product and wider business
- Work day to day with behavioural data, using funnel analysis and event tracking to connect app behaviour with policy, pricing and claims data
- Analyse pricing, business and product performance, identifying trends, opportunities and areas where deeper investigation is needed
- Follow analysis through to claims and loss ratio, so the risk and commercial impact of what is shipped is understood, not just conversion
- Own metric definitions and contribute to the semantic layer, helping ensure the business works from a consistent version of each number
- Collaborate with BI and Data Engineering colleagues on analytical and data projects
- Drive self-serve analytics across the business by coaching stakeholders and building the dashboards, metrics and documentation they need to answer their own questions
- Support the Product team as new products and features are launched and iterated on
Requirements
- Experience working with data in the insurance industry, ideally within personal lines and preferably motor
- Strong statistical reasoning, and can explain what an analysis does and doesn't support, including the assumptions and limitations behind your conclusions
- A strong commercial mindset and can connect analysis to business performance, customer outcomes and commercial decisions
- Highly proficient in SQL and Python, being comfortable using Python for analysis, modelling and problem solving
- Can work confidently with complex datasets, joining information from different sources to uncover insights and answer ambiguous questions
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner with senior stakeholders, ask the right questions and challenge thinking when needed
- Excellent communication skills and can turn complex analysis into a clear story, recommendation or decision for your audience
- Comfortable working across functions and collaborating with BI, Data Engineering, Product, Pricing and other teams to solve problems
- Experience working as a Data Analyst, Pricing Analyst, Data Scientist, BI Analyst or in a similar analytical role
- Curious about new approaches to data, including data science and AI, and interested in how they can improve the way decisions are made
- The ability to take an ambiguous business problem, work out what is needed to know, and independently take it from question through analysis and recommendation
Nice to have
- Have designed, run or interpreted experiments, A/B tests or feature rollouts
- Have worked with a behavioural analytics tool such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or GA4 alongside a data warehouse
- Have experience with machine learning models, including understanding how their performance and accuracy are evaluated
