This role is within the infrastructure department, developing backend services and tools for managing data storage and processing, infrastructure provisioning, and system integrations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services for infrastructure and data processing
- Set technical standards and ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation
- Build and develop the Python team, including hiring, mentoring, and task planning
- Integrate systems and design REST/gRPC APIs
- Automate infrastructure processes and build data-flow management tools
- Work with DevOps on CI/CD, deployment, and service observability, including metrics, logs, and alerting
- Contribute to technical planning, estimates, risk assessment, and collaboration with other teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial Python development, including 1–2+ years as a team lead, tech lead, or senior developer
- Experience designing high-load distributed services
- Strong SQL and database experience, including PostgreSQL or MySQL, with knowledge of database internals and optimization
- Confident use of UNIX systems and the command line
- Practical Docker and Kubernetes experience, including image builds, manifests or Helm charts, and deployment
- Experience with unit and integration testing, code reviews, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
