Spirebound Inc. is building a strategic deck-building game with action RPG elements and is looking for a Lead Composer to create an atmospheric and melodic dark fantasy music score.

Responsibilities

Compose dark fantasy music tailored for a strategic deck-building game with action RPG elements
Create paired-state tracks with calm exploration and intense combat versions that transition seamlessly
Ensure all music loops cleanly over extended 30-minute sessions without becoming repetitive or intrusive
Develop distinct musical identities for each game zone using leitmotifs, cultural motifs, and varied instrumentation
Incorporate chromatic tension, horns, and strings to control intensity within individual pieces
Collaborate with the game development team to align musical themes with gameplay and narrative elements

Requirements

Proven experience composing music specifically for video games with adaptive or layered systems
Ability to create paired-state recordings inspired by games like Fire Emblem: Awakening and FTL
Demonstrated skill in writing music that maintains player engagement over long gameplay sessions
Strong understanding of looping techniques
Familiarity with dark fantasy musical styles
Portfolio showcasing atmospheric and melodic game music compositions
