Moneyfarm is hiring a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure and analytical data models using Redshift, Airflow, dbt, AWS, SQL, and Python. The role includes decommissioning legacy components, supporting AI-enabled capabilities, and collaborating with analysts, engineers, and product teams.

Responsibilities

Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructure for ingestion, orchestration, and transformation.
Build and maintain Moneyfarm’s analytical data models, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and reliable.
Contribute to the incremental decommissioning of legacy components while ensuring data continuity for the business.
Contribute to AI powered capabilities of Moneyfarm’s Data Platform.
Share best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing, supporting the growth of the team.
Work closely with analysts, software engineers, and product teams to solve complex data problems and deploy ML/AI applications.
Bring positive impact to Moneyfarm data culture by sharing knowledge and promoting best practices

Requirements

5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering roles
BSc or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
Experience in fintech / wealth management
Deep proficiency in SQL and Python
Meaningful experience with Airflow and DBT
Strong experience with Redshift (BigQuery is a plus)
Experience with AWS and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
Comfortable integrating AI tooling in daily work
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, also with non technical stakeholders
Ability to translate business requirements into well-designed data solutions
Comfortable working in iterative environments balancing quality and delivery
Fluency in English is essential (most stakeholders are UK based).

We offer

This role can be based in our offices in Milan or Cagliari.
Salary range: €55,000 – €73,000 gross/year + bonus, based on experience/competences demonstrated
