This role involves building and running HTML5 slot games for real-money and demo play on mobile and desktop browsers, focusing on the game client. You will work closely with game artists, mathematicians, the back-end team, and QA.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain slot game clients in Cocos Creator 3.x with TypeScript: reels, win lines and win presentation, big wins, free games, bonus buy, autoplay, game history, settings and the rules page
• Bring designers' art to life with Spine animations, the Cocos animation system, particles and texture atlases, keeping every frame faithful to the design
• Implement the client side of a server-authoritative game over WebSocket: the client only shows the outcome the server sends and never computes money; bets are idempotent; reconnect, resume and "connection lost" screens behave correctly and tell the player the truth
• Make games load fast and run smoothly on low and mid-range phones: asset bundles, lazy loading, preloading, compression, content-hashed caching, memory and frame-rate budgets
• Ensure compatibility across iOS Safari / WebKit, Android Chrome, in-app browsers and desktop browsers: portrait and landscape layouts, touch input, audio autoplay rules, hidden-tab behaviour and iframe embedding
• Support multiple languages, currencies and number formats
• Write automated browser tests (e.g. Playwright / Chrome DevTools Protocol) and check on real devices before every release
• Keep builds reproducible and versioned, and hand each finished build to our release process
• Make games run correctly when a partner shows them inside an iframe on their own lobby page
• Take part in code reviews and keep the code clean, documented and testable

Requirements

• 3+ years building HTML5 games or interactive canvas / WebGL applications, with at least one shipped game
• Hands-on experience with Cocos Creator (3.x preferred), or a comparable engine (PixiJS, Phaser, LayaAir, Egret) and a willingness to work in Cocos Creator
• Strong TypeScript / modern JavaScript (ES2020+): async code, the event loop and memory management
• Experience with Spine (or a similar skeletal animation runtime), texture atlases and basic WebGL concepts
• Experience with WebSocket real-time clients on unreliable mobile networks (reconnects, timeouts, message ordering)
• Mobile web performance profiling (Chrome DevTools, Safari Web Inspector) and fixing real-device issues
• Git and a code-review workflow
• Nationality: Taiwanese, Malaysian, Chinese, or Singaporean
• Language: Mandarin is the primary working language. Ability to read basic English documents is required.
