This role focuses on modernization and tech debt reduction efforts for middleware services, SOAP-to-REST evolution, Azure modernization, and API development, with a primary focus on back-end work.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily in 2-week sprint cycles
• Own development work from design through deployment
• Collaborate directly with architects, SMEs, and technical leadership to refine requirements
• Develop, test, deploy, and support solutions
• Review and remediate security findings
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and team collaboration
• Contribute to modernization and tech debt reduction initiatives
• Support production issues and maintenance related to owned components

Requirements

• Deep Java expertise and strong object-oriented development experience
• Enterprise application development with Spring Boot
• REST API development
• DevOps experience, understanding CI/CD processes, release management, containerization, and software delivery lifecycle
• Technologies: Docker, build/deployment pipelines
• Security knowledge, understanding secure coding practices, OWASP principles, vulnerability remediation, and security scanning outputs (SonarQube, Snyk, Veracode-type tools, Pen test findings)
• Comfortable with REST APIs, SOAP Services, service integrations, and backward compatibility requirements
• Cloud / Platform experience with Azure
• Basic experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, and MVC concepts

• Azure Container Apps (ACA)
• Azure API Gateway
• Monitoring / Observability with one or more: Grafana, ELK, Datadog, OpenTelemetry
