This role is for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a new, growing team at the intersection of machine learning, hardware, and software. You will operate independently, lead projects, and work closely with the central Platform Engineering group.

Responsibilities

Own the CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and operational health of your team's applications and services
Build and operate cloud backend services, tooling, and automation in Python and Go
Partner with the Platform Engineer to adopt shared tooling and contribute improvements back to the platform
Design and manage cloud infrastructure as code
Build observability (metrics, alerting, dashboards) and drive reliability and performance improvements
Set technical direction and standards for deployment and operations within the team

Requirements

BSc in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, backend, DevOps, or SRE engineering
Strong experience with Jenkins and ArgoCD (CI/CD and GitOps)
Strong experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes
Hands-on experience with AWS and the AWS SDK
Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Pulumi
Proficiency in Python and Bash, including building backend services and automation
Experience with Go
Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN, TLS)
Experience with Prometheus for monitoring and alerting
Proven track record of independently leading infrastructure projects end-to-end: defining scope, designing the architecture, and driving execution through to delivery
Experience designing and operating distributed backend services in the cloud
Experience with debugging across platforms and performance optimization in distributed systems
Strong analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring or guiding peers and working in a matrixed model with a central platform team
Proficiency in Git and modern development workflows

Nice to have

Experience with VictoriaMetrics
Experience with Grafana and distributed tracing/logging stacks such as OpenTelemetry
Experience supporting both macOS and Linux build and runtime environments
