Workstream is building an all-in-one HR, payroll, and hiring platform for managing the hourly workforce. Our engineering team focuses on building and innovating cloud technology solutions that empower local businesses to thrive and better serve the deskless workforce in their communities. We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well-scoped product features
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams
• Advocate for and practice test-driven development (TDD) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software

Requirements

• 8 to 12+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one or more of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript, with experience developing full-stack, high-performance, and high-availability applications
• Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns
• Experience building scalable systems and test-driven CI/CD with a commitment to quality software development
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, have comprehensive understanding of the decision-making process between SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective
• Keep up with the latest technological trends and continuously improve productivity
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Nice to have

• Experience with NextJS or other front end technologies
